One of two
Tom Brewitz mobiles, "Geometric Curtain,"
is seen Monday (April 11, 2005) during installation
at the Hot Springs Convention Center. The Minnesota
artist's mobiles were commissioned by the Hot Springs
Arts Advisory Committee. The works will be officially
dedicated to the convention center's permanent art
collection at 8:30 a.m. today. The second piece,
"Circles," is a mobile with curved hangers
full of metal circles. Both pieces will move with the
slightest air current and the brushed-metal surfaces
reflect fight and colors. Brewitz has created kinetic
art for 25 years. His moving sculptures are on
display at Gallery Central downtown and across the
nation.
Geometric
Curtain has over 180 motion elements
and hangs from a 58 foot ceiling.
Kinetic
Sculpture 'Spira'
Spira is Installed
with the Downtown Development Authority
in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at the Broward County
Courthouse.
Spira has endured a brush with the edge of two
hurricanes in 2004 and winds of 60-70 mph.
