"Circles
321"
2000, Stainless Steel
5'6" x 7'1"
This unique
work has strong circular elements in single, double
and triple combinations on a geometrically rich
support stand. As an outdoor piece, the sculpture
moves with air currents and is design to withstand
harsh winds, northern winters or desert heat.
It was in
the late 1980s when Brewitz began work on the curved
base that was eventually constructed to be the stand
for Circles 321. The base was set aside as other
projects drew his interest and was moved in 1991 into
what has become Brewitz's current sculpture studio.
In 2000 Brewitz rediscovered the beauty of this
geometric base and introduced the support arms of the
stand and motion elements that would complete the
sculpture.
