'Square
Circle Synergy'
1998
41" Height x
33" WidthAlthough
Brewitz can begin his sculpture by sketching his
ideas, he can also create a new work from scratch
in raw materials. At his hilltop studio along the
St Croix River Valley of Stillwater, Minnesota,
Brewitz combines stainless steel elements to
achieve the desired geometric combinations.
This method of mix and
match can be rewarding but can also be less
predictable. Fortunately, with the successful
outcome of 'Square Circle Synergy' Brewitz is
again able to give another kinetic work rhythm
and harmony.
The top left photo was
snapped as the sculpture whirled and turned. The
next photo shows how the work aligns itself at
rest.
The bottom image shows how
architectural software tools are used to
developed the technical drawings (CADD) needed to
fabricate the stand used in Square Circle
Synergy.
